We the People 200 Celebration.

Over 375 programs were planned and implemented in l987 in honor of the 200th anniversary of the U.S. Constitution. The focus of the program was Philadelphia with the client enjoying an image enhancement worldwide. The programs resulted in the most successful events ever held in Pennsylvania from a participatory as well as media viewpoint.
Governors' Conference and Governors' Ball

This event was conceived in honor of the 200th anniversary of the convening of the Constitutional Convention on May 25, 1787. The governors of the 13 original states were invited to attend a day-long conference on the future of the "state of the states" exactly 200 years after being called upon to consolidate their sovereignty. The conference was covered by 85 media outlets, including national broadcast on C-Span. The ball, attended by 1,400 persons in formal wear or colonial dress, was held in five large tents in the shadow of Independence Hall. This formal ball included the first in a series of 13 toasts that were to mark the Constitution celebration throughout 1987 and 1988. A fireworks display punctuated the evening with over 500,000 persons watching the choreographed pyrotechnic show.
Memorial Day Ceremonies

In honor of the Constitutional Convention convening on this day 200 years ago, a series of events were planned culminating in a one hour program of remarks from Chief Justice Warren E. Burger to Vice President George Bush. A 30 piece orchestra and the Old Guard U.S. Army Band provided musical accompaniment, along with narration by James Earl Jones and the singing of an original musical piece by Broadway actress Andrea McArdle. The event ended with the flying of a balloon flag that measured 50 x 150 feet.
Political Humor Around the World

A three day conference was planned to bring together the world's greatest political satirists for a discussion of how their respective constitution's allowed for the freedom of speech granted them in their own country. The conference concluded with a "concert" of humorists at the famed Academy of Music, featuring such notables as Art Buchwald, Mark Russell, Andy Rooney, Dick Gregory, cartoonist Mike Peters humorists from Canada, Europe, Asia and Africa.
Commemorative Visit of U.S. Congress

Over 200 members of the U.S. Congress came to the site of the conception of Congress, 200 years to the day, in honor of the historic anniversary. The entire leadership of the Senate and the House participated in various ceremonies, including an outdoor program, an historic session in Independence Hall and a formal outdoor dinner attended by some 1,500 persons. Over 400 media were credentialed for the events of the day.
Constitution Day

A series of events was conceived, planned and produced in honor of the day the Constitution was signed. The events included a five hour parade on national television, a commemorative ceremony with the President of the United States, an historic ceremony with Chief Justice Warren E. Burger, a two hour evening television special on CBS network, a formal dinner for 1,400 persons and a giant outdoor picnic concluding with one of the largest fireworks displays in the history of the country. Over one million persons attended the day's events, along with over 1,400 press.

A year-long commemoration of the 300th anniversary of the City resulted in over 140 programs implemented, including the arrival of the famed Tall Ships, a project that brought 3.2 million persons to the waterfront, the largest single event in the history of the city of Philadelphia.
