The Creative Group, Inc. was founded in Philadelphia in 1984 with a clear purpose: to produce events that people remember. Over 40 years later, that purpose is unchanged — and so is our commitment to flawless execution.
From intimate board meetings to citywide commemorative celebrations, we bring the same precision, experience, and care to every event we produce. Neil Stein grew up surrounded by the work of The Creative Group, and a lifelong immersion in event production prepared him for a career that now spans live event logistics, multimedia coordination, and client and vendor collaboration.
After earning his graduate degree, Neil divided his time between The Creative Group and corporate roles — building parallel expertise in event planning and professional video editing. He now works full-time for the firm, contributing across every phase of production.
Neil brings a modern, media-fluent perspective to an organization with deep institutional roots — ensuring that The Creative Group’s work remains as technically current as it is experientially seasoned.

Fred Stein founded The Creative Group in 1984 following a career that took him from newspaper editor to the halls of Philadelphia City Council and the National Park Service. His path to event production was unconventional — and uniquely suited to the work.
In 1981, Fred was appointed assistant managing director of Philadelphia and tasked with planning the city’s 300th anniversary. He converted a $25,000 city appropriation into $3 million in private sponsorship — producing over 100 events in a single year.
In 1983, he was asked to produce the commemoration of the U.S. Constitution’s 200th anniversary in Washington, D.C. The success of that event led directly to the founding of The Creative Group, Inc.
